Brigitte Winter is a novelist writing fabulist fiction about your favorite monster ex-girlfriends. She also writes narrative games, poetry, and short stories. The capacity of storytelling to connect, inspire, and incite is central to Brigitte’s art and their activism, and they make art that is queer, feminist, intimate, and deliciously weird. Brigitte’s most recent short story, Redo, was published by PodCastle in March 2025, and her work has also appeared in City of Weird: 30 Otherworldly Portland Tales and New Year, New You: A Speculative Anthology of Reinvention, and Yellow Arrow.

Brigitte is a two-time CRIT Award-winning game designer for their full-length TTRPGs The Goodest Girls (2026) and Psychic Trash Detectives (2024), and they were a 2023 Dicebreaker Tabletop Awards Finalist for Designer of the Year. Brigitte was shortlisted for the 2025 Uncharted Magazine Cinematic Short Story Contest, and she was a 2024 PNWA Literary Awards Finalist. She is also a 2023 alumna of Viable Paradise and a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association and the Horror Writers Association.

Brigitte lives in Maryland with their partner and six rescue animals.

Her debut novel, The Normal Monster Club, will be published in 2027.
